This is our second full day in Costa Rica. Several different schedules were going today as we had met up with people yesterday and continued ministry. Rebecca, on of the girls on staff here, headed out at 6am for a small town on the outskirts to work with children, teaching them English. John, Eric and Brian were out at 7am to take Jason, our friend to the clinic to take another look at his wound. Then Amanda, Cat and Holli were off to teach English at the local kindergarten. Lots going on to say the least.
A quick report on Jason: we met a young doctor who was very kind and great at his English. He told us the situation and we are watching Jason's wound to se if it gets worse after his penicilin shot yesterday. It is too early to try and "dig out" the infection. We have to watch for spreading (bad) or shrinking (good). We got to work with his mother on helping him through this time. He is also obviously coming down off drugs and is a mess -- keep praying.
At 10am we started work on a huge wall on the side of the school (about 120' X 10') doing a mural! Everyone jumped in and by the end of the day we had most of it done! A couple of local teens helped us too. One of these young guys was covered in yellow paint! That's commitment to a project! The community was noticing the transformation and we believe it w
ill have great impact in helping people see what Christians do for others. It is a great gift for the community.
We are heading out just before dinner to visit a 97 year old lady here in the village as well as making the next plans for a couple of community projects -- drainage and plumbing.
Later tonight, we'll be walking to a local ice cream place for "Costa Rican treats".
We still need your prayers. Tomorrow will be some major work projects AND an evening program with 120 kids in the community. Rest assured that we're not on vacation! HA!

Keep up the good work- try not to let those delicious dinners or tropical surroundings lull you into vacation mode. LOL! I know you are working so hard and you are such a blessing to the workers and the community! Have an awesome time- we are praying on our end! By the time you come home I'll be gone so keep up the prayer support for the China Team!. Love to all, wish I could bust out some spanglish for you but I got nothing! Cindy
